The Uilleann Keyed Chanter is made of blackwood and comes with one reed and plays two octaves from Low to high D.
NOW in stock and ready to ship!
It has 3 brass keys which provide additional C, G# and F notes.
The Blowcap with Plastic Mouthpiece from the Rosewood Practice Chanter(not included) can be used to play the Blackwood Chanter by itself.

The body has 7 front holes and 1 back hole. This chanter will fit on our starter set. Please contact us for measurements if you are planning to use this chanter on a different maker's set.

The chanter is the answer to the prayers of a would-be piper with a limited budget. It is beautifully in tune and has an excellent tone. You will need a good reed. The design on Evert jan t'Harts website tunes this chanter to perfection with respectable volume and a nice, sharp tone. Enjoy!

This is a great chanter and, honestly, you need to buy one of these to start learning Irish pipes if you already play a chromatic instrument. Do buy a high quality reed. I had mine tuned by my teacher and he raves about what an excellent set of pipes I now have to play. Buy one of these and a high quality reed when you buy your practice set. This is the answer!
